Not many people are comfortable or familiar with death… and a lot of times there are emotions and some are just not expecting, or they are unable to process? It’s really heart wrenching sometimes
When someone dies, at home… you usually call the funeral home after the death…
Sometimes people call us prior to let us know it is imminent. We know to expect and will be ready.
Well anyway… so I was the one handling yesterday morning… then I had to bounce after – so I left haunted mansion … and went to my location.
It was a insane day … I was only management in … handling 3 homes… so that gets nuts 😳 our boards are full!!
We all think … “please no one die for a little while” 🙏🙏🙏 … let us just catch up!
In the afternoon the phone rang at MY location… one of my girls answered… and then she says “It’s for you”
What? Who is it and what do they want? (It’s usually sales people 🤨) I don’t want to buy anything – I am cleaning this up!
But it was that family from before lol
Whatever – I just thought I was going crazy?? Because that call was a haunted mansion call, lol … then I couldn’t remember – was it before I was off being on call? Could it have been my location? But I was positive I had turned phones over at 8 when that call came in…
And I already handled the whole thing
But I guess when they called the haunted mansion back, they just asked for me. And the arranger didn’t question it because I was working there this morning – so he gave them my location telephone number lol ahhhh… but I didn’t learn that until the end of the day lol … that’s when the puzzle 🧩 pieces fit lol
It was a crazy day… I was just confused … I was trying to answer for another funeral home. Also run my reports – which I did one… I did not do the others …
I was talking to the office manager at a location OUTSIDE of mine… She is explaining the reports to me so that I understand ❤️
So I am new and learning – I literally just stepped in.
And it’s really messy. Crazy messy. So I need to fix that – which I can and will… I just have to learn and fix that at the same time lol ✌️
As she was showing me 😮 I do understand the mess 😳😮 … whoa!
So. This will be good lol… because that’s kind of an opportunity… let me show you my skills there ✌️ …and then I can just be the best lol ✌️😘 …
It is going to take me a little time to unravel this 😳 this place needs serious organization and also direction. I think maybe better direction ? Because I would like it to run like a well oiled machine so when I do have days off or vacation you do not worry.

You know those shows called “Hoarders”? Or something like that? Well … my mind is viewing the financials very similarly – it is not currently organized and precise… omg … it is messy and very unorganized. Tons of stuff all tangled 😳
In business, you need that precise!! Ya know. In whatever business you are in – you should run tightly and manageable – know what to be accounted for?
This location struggles with office managers for awhile. And then it was neglected for a little while. We had massive staffing issues

Oh yeah, and we need a part timer … so my boss found us one (that other lady never showed up for the interview)

Ok … so. I have to make him a weekend checklist… tell him what I want – and how I want it done lol … I have to… otherwise he will have zero idea what to do.

Um.. I have more surprises… my boss… I adore my boss! She gave me a chance to begin with. She has been very helpful and supportive! I would not have this without her!
So… just while the other office manager (at a location that is NOT one of mine) was helping me understand the reports … we were talking and I mention where I live. And she said “any interest in working at the one there?” – they are part of us – it could be a transfer
I said it would cut my commute completely!! It would be perfect! Especially after covid! It’s literally right here – it would take me maybe 10/15 minutes to get to work – zero highways… no driving time really …
I would be interested to see sure… I don’t think they have anything though – and what about my girls and this place really needs help.
I would discuss with my boss obviously if that was the case
Also just something interesting… I am so used to my phone being nice and quiet lol… people text me now – I used to text – but I went silent
This business – kinda becomes your life 😮 … so technically my life is death 😮 ok that is freaky if I say it that way lol
You don’t realize how much goes on behind the scenes! You know how event planners plan parties or weddings etc… is same with funeral arrangers – but we just arrange everything for death. With the restrictions we have to be creative while following all mandates and procedures
It’s really hard! and you have to calmly and compassionately walk the family through that

First of all, I didn’t realize how well I get along with girls at my location… we work really well. We all business and also we have senses of humor lol ✌️
They are funny and they have their moments lol ❤️ we all do… but is very enjoyable at this moment – wonderful memories of where I was December 2020 ❤️

So many things happened today!! 😮 I don’t even know where to begin …
First of all… Today is my daughters bday ❤️🎈❤️ my baby girl turned 14 today. I have no babies 😮😮 omg they all grew up really fast on me!!
She was born December 16th, 2006… at 6:40pm Pacific Standard Time ❤️
I had 2 boys already – I had thought she was gonna be another boy… at the ultrasound the technician said “you are having a little princess”
What? What does that mean? Cause I was soooooo sure was a boy again lol
So she says “you are having a little girl?”
What? Maybe check again, because you know, I have boys
The boys were with me… just me and them ❤️
I didn’t believe the technician lol… I must have made her check at least 5 times to be sure… and then she finally explains what to look for and yes – obviously it was a girl lol
I envisioned this little doll ❤️ oh she would be the cutest!!
The boys both had tons of hair at birth… so I figured I would have hair to style (yes the boys had THAT much!)
The girl came out completely bald 🤨
She is a carbon copy of me, but like I am with MY mother – a more updated version lol … she claims to not be as girly as me… but it’s coming on… there is an interest in make up and also… when she showers lately – and then opens the door after showering … steam and the smell of my lotions and perfume fill the house lol – even the boys are like what’s with the heavy perfume lol
I don’t know what she does – but it’s funny cause she is a girly Tom boy … so she has the part that is similar to me… but then she around her brothers and all 3 of my kids are really close ❤️❤️❤️ (I got that part completely right ❤️ they are very very close ❤️)
Anyway… she’s a little scary to wake up sometimes lol
And she is strong willed and driven – good girl, listens … but is also very strong lol… so woman would make an incredible lawyer someday because her debate skills are on it 🤨😄 lucky me❤️

She had homeschool and I had to work… so we had some dinner, cake and I gave her a little something … but we see boys Friday – so we do presents and things then
I do have a funny birth story from when she was born… they gave me an epidural … the nurse did not explain to me fully …
She handed me “a clicker” … and said “you get 3 clicks – save them for when you really need them”
Ok then, I will!! I literally saved all 3 clicks for when she began to crown 😮
So… the doctors were like “push” and I was paralyzed lol … I had literally zero feeling – best labor ever!!!! But I did not gain my feeling back for a few days lol omg
Anyway… so today is her 14th birthday 🥳 … my baby is 14 😮
I am both excited she turns 14… but then also sad she grows up… I always think of this:
I do wish you could save time in a bottle to visit anytime you wanted – I would have so many bottles lol ❤️❤️ I would want to save many moments!!
Anyway – on with the day… I went to work… time kept getting away from me.
I was supposed to run an errand – which I never got to 🤨 (I have everything in my trunk and I have to go do first thing… FIRST THING in the morning) tmrw will be a day 😳😳😳 🙏 oh please go smooth 🙏
I don’t have enough hours in the day!! And so much comes at us… and I am down one arranger who has a head cold – she has been staying home. If you sick- please stay home.
She has been tested – she is fine, just a head cold. But still, feel better first.

But… not sure if it’s covid or we were just spent? But by the afternoon we were laughing at some many things lol

So… first there is this company that we order things from… every time we order something from them they send us Lollipops 🍭

But my arranger says “we joke and say it’s because they are calling us suckers” 😄😄
So I laughed … and she says “but I don’t really think that is why they do that”
So I looked at the lollipops … guess what kind they are? 😄😄 they are Dum Dums 😄
So I said well I dunno… they send those Dum Dum suckers so lol … that actually may be the reason – their stuff is expensive 🤨 and then they go and send us what we order with those Dum Dum Lollipops lol … it does look kind of suspicious lol … but whatever – we laughed
And… I have a few families that are little funny ❤️❤️
The first one:
They are very very very sweet family and they are serious …
First they ask me… we aren’t sure, but if there are gold teeth can we have them? 😳😄
Ok so I called the Carecenter to ask about that – and they were like … oh stop lol … they made me laugh… and then told me if family truly wants that… they have to find a dentist who will come in and do that – good luck I guess usually they won’t?
Nothing ever became of that…
Then today… they want a viewing… is not a covid case … and deceased is not embalmed … but it’s been maybe about a week? In the freezer
So they want to make sure they are not going to be disturbed by what deceased looks like
I again call the Carecenter and say how they look?
The carecenter says to me “well on the top shelf so couldn’t see very well – but seems good”
So that what I said
And my arranger was like totally laughing … said watch the verbiage because I told them was on top shelf so that gives mental image 😮
But it was the words “top shelf” that made it a little funny – it didn’t even cross my mind I was in work mode.
And then I have another family who comes every day because I do not believe they quite understand email or are comfortable with computers or maybe don’t have internet?
So that’s fine
They have an arranger – but they REALLY like me lol ❤️ … even when they talk to their arranger… they call her by my name lol … they actually like dealing with me the most lol
I like them too, very cool family!
They dropped clothes off today and whoa!! They send in a tux like suit 😮 crazy fancy… goin out in style! He be ready for the after party.
But me and my arranger by the end of the day kept laughing at everything and then she said – do you think covid is making us crazy? Lol 😄✌️
But ya know… laughter in this business is really good… you need a balance behind the madness … I love that I laugh with my coworkers… having amazing coworkers makes work pretty awesome
Still careful of them a little but it’s been really awesome ❤️
So anyway… and now here I am … I have early day tmrw – I have to run that errand for the funeral home… and get to work!! I have a ton of work!!!
Oh yeah… and … today since that one arranger been out this week I was at her computer this morning to do something and it was meeting time… it has a camera 😝
I just groaned … I was gonna switch to mine but my arranger says “Trisha, you are so pretty why do you hate the camera so much?
I just do. It’s more of a privacy and security thing to me?? I am cautious. I prefer to avoid ✌️
I like being behind the camera more anyway. I do still actually take pictures – because one day I will be old… and I can remember how I once was … so I DO take pictures sometimes

I could never be a celebrity because the paparazzi would probably be way too much for me lol (I like to blend in, not be noticed or hunted)

My legs looked long today – they only look that way – but I don’t think they really are, they just look it. Otherwise they are normal legs lol… but they did look long today – I bought myself a pair of shoes with a slight heal – but is is a thick heal – way better – way more stable lol ✌️they are Mary-Janes ❤️ (wicked cute!)
But they made my legs look long … it was fine … until one guy could not take his eyes off my legs omg … not the boobs or anything … was the legs lol … that was just a little funny lol (my humor is warped)

On Tuesday 😳… next Tuesday 😳 I am driving the Hearse with a body to a cemetery with this family. 😮 is an immediate burial – literally only father and son allowed and be fast. Cemetery should be waiting for me – and I transfer to them – I don’t believe I stay with family because there are no services ? But I am not sure – I have to check on that. 😳😮
So Tuesday I have to be ALL done up!!
I was supposed to interview someone today but they didn’t show up – so they don’t get the job… still hunting
We also need one arranger for one location (not mine) but we want that arranger to have experience and be ready to take off … that is hard to find – I don’t know if they will find that? That’s a hard position to fill. Outside the funeral business 🤨😄
The position I am filling is for a part timer with should be little easier? Hopefully? There are many applicants. I just have to find a good one.
I get a company card in my name – cause I do all the purchases and handle all the bills.
Today I discovered that MY location is paying for 2 internets – one we don’t even use… so today I opened a ton of tickets with the help desk lol… help me with that lol … I’m kidding but they have to.
We have to do all our arraignments through WebEx… is online meeting where we can share presentation with you and show you the packages
While also discussing what we are able to do for them vs what the restrictions are.
Well her computer is through wifi and the band with is little with the one she is on…
There is another internet …
But not one person knows the password and I talked to the company today and we have not used that internet but we pay for it!!!!! 🤨

But my location had one office manager who handled all 3 for awhile – and before that, was a bad manager – so it’s messy
I have a big giant mess that I have to organize 🤨 it’s really awful! Not organized in slightest so whatever system I develop here … I want next office manager to walk in and it all be ready to go. Seamless

Yesterday evening I dropped off a few things for a few people
Tonight I am just tired. I want to take a nice hot shower and go to bed ❤️ doesn’t that sound like heaven?
It is night time and still raining. I just stayed inside all day long.
My landlord texted me to see if I am ok … she ask – are you warm? Are you ok? Lol ❤️ she’s very good to me, always.
I told her “I am fine thank you, staying warm – just hanging in my jammies all day” ❤️✌️ and then I said …thank you for checking on me (cause she always does ❤️)
And then she made a comment about being family ❤️
I am very blessed and lucky to be here ❤️ I do feel safe here
Not only do I feel safe here … but she’s really sweet and will check on me or make sure I do ok. ❤️ … she has made me cry with her sweetness lol ❤️ just because she is very sweet, thoughtful and kind. Very heartfelt touching… has a beautiful soul
When I first met her – we both had dealt with breast cancer … and her husband died the same year as my father … and she is funny and comforting … right away made me feel welcome ❤️
We live on a ranch… she is always giving me fruits and vegetables … and she is into herbal stuff and vitamins … so any ailment you have, she can fix it lol
She’s a normal regular woman not hippie or anything … but she knows things lol ✌️
She doesn’t see me too much because I am busy and so is she… and when I am here – I am just very quiet.
If someday I leave, I want to always keep them in my life ❤️
They have just been very caring and supportive ❤️
I am very lucky 🍀 beyond lucky ❤️
They never let me feel alone ❤️ I feel very safe and protected with them – I like that
I handle my stuff myself, and I am strong … but just being here I do feel adopted lol ❤️ they just make me feel safe and secure. They have helped me stand ❤️

Work has been quiet ?? So no idea what Monday holds 😮

So I had to work yesterday. I am now Monday through Friday.
I don’t know if that will change though because we have 3 office managers now – one for each location … not just 1 person handling all 3!
But the other 2 work Sunday through Thursday
So that leaves them with me (inexperienced and still learning) for Friday’s … and I have to handle all 3 on Fridays
And then Saturday there is no office managers in… office managers are the ones who approve everything and do account changes or handle checks etc… there are many things.
So I don’t know how they cover that gap? Or if matters for one day? The arrangers can be intense – I have one intense one lol
So we have these Covid restrictions and things now –
So every single morning – I take my temperature and record it. The company bought us thermometers 🌡 – they are forehead thermometers.
I hold it up to my forehead and it takes my temp. It has a light on it that always lights up green… if it lights up yellow – caution ⚠️… but if goes red – I can’t go to work.
I have 80 hours of Covid pay to cover me for a 2 week time period IF I get sick- which I am not planning on doing or using. I would still get paid for 2 weeks.
Anyway… I take my temp every morning
I put my mask on just like you do clothes, before I walk out the door. I keep it down around my chin until I am near someone – then I put it up
I stay distanced from people and try to have the smallest contact with stores – I have even been online ordering for Christmas 🤨😝😝😝😝😝😝
Oh I hate online ordering!!!! Ughhhhh it kills me!!! Not so much during the rest year… but during Christmas I hate it – but I also hate crowds so whatever – choose your poison lol
* I do not like Christmas time online ordering because – I can find better deals myself… and I like to just know I already have it… with online ordering you pray to god everything ships on time 🤨🤨 I don’t like that feeling during Christmas – I don’t like that deadline feeling
So anyway…
Then when I get to work, my mask is on always – except to drink… and when I eat
I do kinda like my face warm in winter – so again – another bonus of masks lol ✌️
I have not caught anything at all!! No colds nothing – I keep myself away from everyone!!
Still doesn’t really mean I am safe. There is always risk.
We also have to text everyone to tell them we are feeling ok 🤨 this I also don’t like 😝😄
We are supposed to text at 7am … that would be SEVEN O’CLOCK!!! 🕖 07:00am
Well that intense arranger will text at 4am, 5am whatever 🤨 dude … that is not 7!!! And it’s REALLY bugging me so I am gonna mention because it is driving me nuts too much.

But this 4 and 5AM shit has to stop!!! I have a mother with Alzheimer’s – I need my phone on. So this is kinda bullshit that I will be fixing next week.
How about I just tell you IF I am sick? Cause obviously if I am recording the temp and showing up for work then I am fine. You only need to worry if I am sick

I had to go to the post office over there by the haunted mansion…
We needed veterans flags … I had to pick up 4 of them. 😮
So I go… and they tell me to wait for this one guy who handles that … so ok … I wait.
The guy comes to the window and speaks 😳😄 umm his voice was like an announcer?? Hmm I smiled behind the mask the whole time because of how he speak to me lol
He left the window, and was gone for maybe 5 minutes… he comes back with 4 flags… which are in big boxes 📦
So I have them piled … I have that bad arm… it was really hard.
Not one person even tried to help me … no one opened any doors nothing…
I have never experienced that before 😮 they just moved aside 😮 what???? What is wrong with people but whatever
When I got outside heading to car … I was still struggling cause I couldn’t see over the boxes and they were heavy
A very elderly little old lady, asked are you ok? Do you need help… well at that point I was almost at the car and figured best to stay on track
So at first I said “oh I am fine thank you” and as I said that my folder fell and there was no way I could get it … so I said “ok maybe I need a little help” lol
And she came over and helped me ❤️❤️❤️ beautiful soul ❤️
I then had to run to my first funeral home after that… drop something off… and get over to mine
Also during all these things – I have to run reports and do them – get them signed off on… and turn them in for a time frame – I have deadlines 🤨 and I am new
I’m pretty sure I am doing correctly so far
Ohhhhhh and while I was at haunted mansion… we have a new office manager there and she knows her stuff
I know that I probably won’t have much training so… I figured let me see how she sets herself up…
This girl is on it… she has an awesome system… and while I was looking around (I had to sit at her desk) I found an office manager MANUAL 😮😮😮❤️ omg
So while I was there alone… I copied every page ❤️ so now I have a manual. ❤️ now I should do really good right out the gate!! Why do we not all have this??

I got to hear how incredible CD Projekt Red is as a video game company … he said he had been waiting for this game for 8 years.
They took so long because they offer you a full game – NOT a game you pay $70 for and then get charged for extra stuff too
This company doesn’t believe in that… they promised a full game and would be seamless… no load screens … no massive costs – just buy the game
I guess sales have been incredible … they also gave everyone who buy game a ticket to get next game free!!
And THAT is how you run a business … THAT is how you capture an audience … that is how you spread your name, that is how you get big!
And oldest has been drawing ❤️ I used to buy him tons of art stuff … all 3 of them draw incredibly (I can too) – my moms dad was an artist of sorts … so must just be in the blood

He was like “what?? No, just drawing”
I said “you should do an animation … that would be awesome”
