Working yesterday, was funny.

We had an online, nationwide meeting that they had been pushing for weeks now.

We were required to login to network and have the meeting, see a brand unveiling etc…

Well 😄😄 … someone’s ass was on the line in IT 😄😄 … cause it kept severely crashing the servers with over 300k online all at once at the same time lol… you can not forget the servers!!

I imagined someone all stressed and panicked… hot and sweaty and worried – little nervous. Probably freaking out lol (I have those days too, when things just crash lol)

But they got it going… after maybe 20 minutes 😄✌️

It was a hour and a half meeting. Rebranding and focusing on “details”, and readjusting to what people want nowadays.

Afterwards, my district manager came in and we spoke more about my new position and possibilities for future 😮❤️ all good things.

I really like that I can talk to her very easily. Have a really good rapport with her. I like her. And she really makes me feel important to the organization.

To start training for my new position… she is sending me to another funeral home!!! Within our network – but not one of our 3… a whole new one!!

I am just making the rounds at funeral homes lol … I feel like a death angel 😮✌️ … but I get to see everything and network and meet people. With distancing and masks… it’s very strict in this business and we have regulations on us currently… we follow to the T.

This new one is about an hour away from me, and same distance from my current funeral homes, so outside my area… I have no idea what to expect. Will be entirely new process!! I am excited!!

They will be training me for this current position starting Monday, because my girls are just now squaring away and running all 3 funeral homes – so they don’t currently have time for training.

This one says funeral home and crematory 😳… mine do offsite through a care center … I have not seen one with that onsite 😳 I don’t know if they use the Carecenter or not? We will find out on Monday 😮

I am on call again Sunday night too … so I work Saturday at ugly walls, Sunday at mine, be on call all night Sunday night, be at this new place Monday morning and also Tuesday 😮 oh my goodness!

The down time of corona lockdowns is a total distant memory right now!!

And then NEXT Friday is court. Whew! Ok

I have to buy some kind of wheeled thing to carry all those files. I won’t be able to carry and lift them without.

So whatever crazy week coming after today!! 😮 I’m gonna fall massively behind – more so than already am! I am sorry, have no control there.

And…..

Years ago… you would pull up to a gas station, and just pull in… a guy would come over ask what you needed – say “fill my tank”, you would pay for the gas, and this guy would fill your tank and while it was filling he would clean your windshield too!!!!

He would even offer to check your oil… all for fricken free

They stopped doing that – I assume because they lazy or the corporation doesn’t want to pay their employees more!!

Ok … let me tell you – I HATE PUMPING GAS!!!! Ugh!!! I just hate it in general… can someone just do that for me? I don’t wanna smell like gas, I don’t want to touch stuff… bring that shit back!!! I don’t wanna be touching stuff – the less I touch the better!!!

I don’t want to touch a handle many people touch!! 😝 gross!! Ugh

They need to bring that back!!!!! Especially right now!!!

Should be law 😘✌️ kinda not kidding during corona (but we can keep it after corona too please!! Cause I really hate pumping gas! – especially all dressed up 🤨)

They used to have lanes labeled “self serve” if you did not want someone to pump for you…

And then there were lanes that would say “full serve” – I NEED FULL SERVICE!!!! Service me!!!!

Oh and another thing… during corona when I had all the roadways to myself ❤️… gas was cheap!! Cheaper than it had been in a long time… I was loving it!! Clear roads, cheap gas … I just needed someone to pump it for me lol 😘✌️😄

When I went to the gas station this morning 🤨 gas was $3.15 a gallon for the cheapest 🤨

Grrr!!! Ugh – I gotta pump myself – it’s getting more expensive – there are more people on the roads – ugh!!!!

I even left at 6:30am this morning!!! Thinking ahhh I will beat traffic 🤨 … fricken nope!!!

Tons of people out walking around in the city, people everywhere!! Way to isolate!!! 🤨

Well whatever 🤨 I just want my gas pumped – bring that back!!!! Why did it go away in the first place!???

So anyway… now I am at the haunted mansion ❤️ ahhh all safe and tucked away!! Just how I like it lol ✌️😘 (for now anyway)

Ugh!!! I never should have left the east coast!!! I need to go back and live in New Jersey so someone can pump my gas and service me!!! Lol – a girl can dream!! dammit – stupid gas stations!!!

Well the schools just came down with what’s happening.

ALL students will be on “distance learning” – what they are calling home schooling now.

They have a program set up online through INTERconnect… and they “say” teachers are in training for how to teach this way.

Alright we will see – cause as of March 2020 that last school year – was just a bumbling crazy mess with no one knowing how to do anything and no idea really what was truly happening. Last school year was a throw away waste!!!

So Friday they will tell us what supplies we need, and then school is scheduled to start “distance learning” on August 20th.

Our district tried to hold out… but the cases keep rising. You can’t send them like that – it would create a major catastrophe!! I have her on distance learning indefinitely until they have a vaccine or something.

This year my daughter enters the 8th grade. One more year until high school.

No dances, no socializing, no school – nothing – it makes me wonder how this generation is going to see things later.

She does socialize cause she has a huge group of really awesome friends – they have her laughing constantly!! ❤️ she picked well!

Maybe actually this is good? We have to do anyway… but it will give her an extra set of skills – if done right… both on the schools end, and MY end.

It will be a lesson on how to be responsible for your own learning – perhaps this generation will handle life better? 🙏 be smarter 🙏 be aware and not take for granted

One can hope right? 🙏

The socializing aspect… well I don’t know how that will go? She is right in the middle – she got a chance to socialize and gather her friends before this all happened.

Hopefully she can enter high school with a whole new wide eyed approach?

They will be excited to be back together again and ready for new experiences!

She was just getting to that point where you start discovering who you are among your people – she is bright, and funny, crazy sometimes lol … she is political 🙄, and like a little lawyer when she wants something lol – she is kind and loving and stands up for others

She was just starting to have independence and strength… sometimes I do wonder who is teaching the lessons here? Lol

Well anyway… distance learning… I feel way more comfortable with that.

The one thing that’s going to be hard… I am lucky because she is 13… she turns 14 in December… I can leave her at home or she can come with me… I don’t need childcare for her.

Many don’t have that option. Some have small kids and both parents work – daycare is hard now too.

One of the girls at work has a 5 yr old and a 7 year old… both parents work… they had to scramble and figure out how to juggle… they still don’t really know!!

Things are so expensive still and do not reflect the current happenings – so what do you do? Inflation does not care about a virus.

Anyway… struggles everywhere.

I have to run, have things to get squared away… I go to court next Friday for the trial set hearing. Bleh 😝

We just had a Blue Alert 😮 – both me AND daughter… our phones just went crazy with a loud awful sound and information about who they looking for.

The Blue Alert is from the California CHP… attack on a law enforcement officer and search for subject is still active… provides immediate information to the public about violent suspects – they want help seeking the suspect.

When you click on it – it shows you the persons photo, the car they drive and their license plate number- with the message “if seen call 9-1-1”

We get these for different reasons when is a important issue…

There are also Silver Alerts… for elderly persons with possible Alzheimer’s or dementia – or some situation where they may be disoriented … alert is sent if they are missing

We also have Amber Alerts – for a missing child

And EMA Alerts – for “Endangered Missing Advisory” – someone is in danger and if seen call authorities.

These alerts don’t happen too often, but when they do – it’s usually pretty serious

I just pulled up our local news … sure enough it is there

The police responded to reports at 7:25pm this evening of a man threatening suicide with a firearm.

They found him in his vehicle and he fired at officers. No officers were injured.

Suspect is said to be armed and dangerous. He is being sought after in “4” surrounding counties

Anyway… anyone threatening suicide is serious!!! And makes the situation much more dangerous!!

This occurred in the city I work in… I am in one of those surrounding counties.

Suicide is a VERY serious issue. And with the way things are with people struggling right now… and the way the world is so upside down right now… I’m sure many are on that edge.

So I got called into work earlier today… whew!!

I went in for 12:30… right when I got there had to run to Haunted Mansion with paperwork…

Came back to my location, some one sent us cookies to say thank you 🍪 (they were sealed and packaged, really nice!)

Then there is a ups delivery, people are coming to set up an arrangement, the mailman comes, ashes delivered – had to check those in

Oh my god! Grand central station today!! Holy moly!!!

Also – had to read a doctors handwriting 🤨 … good fricken luck with that!!

Oh my god! Why do they all have horrible handwriting??? And they are doctors? Don’t they write ALOT of stuff??! They scribble!!! Completely scribble!!

What looked like the word “parallel” … nope… instead it was “pacemaker” 🤨… I had to verify that cause I could not make it out!!! All of it was like reading a foreign language of scribble 🤨

Anyway… I groaned to stop at store… I had to 😝🤨😝 masked and gloved – but I was all decked out.

However… today that worked for me lol… one of the check out guys took me right away, so I didn’t have to wait in line 😊 … sometimes it pays to be a woman lol ✌️ sorry but yes – whatever – facts of life

And then on my way home, on my country roads… I see a car up ahead – no one is on this road… the cars hood is open, and I see a person.

So I stopped. I asked if she was ok… was a young girl, maybe my oldest sons age… she looked like she had been crying, her face was red and tear stained

When I asked if she was ok, she said she thinks she got it now and it will start.

I asked if she wanted me to hang for a minute to make sure – you don’t see too many people on this road.

She said no that she should be fine, but then she thanked me for stopping. Poor thing. 😔 I drive a POS too.

Anyway I am home now.

So I just got home, put away some groceries, got changed, made left overs – thank god I had those!!!

Also… here is a weird thing…

On way my to work I heard a song I had never heard before – I couldn’t really hear the lyrics cause I was paying attention to stupid traffic!!

Whatever I have an app I push a button and it will find whatever song I want… so I pushed the button to find that one.

I didn’t have time to check and see what was, but I figured I would check it out tonight …

Then I had to go to haunted mansion… so I took the company van. The song came on again – ok whatever – just a coincidence.

On my way back from haunted mansion, yet again…

And then on my way home… 😳😮 … I had never heard the song before today!!! I heard it so many times today!!

And just now before blogging – I remembered the song … so I went to the app to check history and see what song I made it find…

I’m not really liking death following me so much lol ✌️ I feel like that anyway – it engulfs my life, strange things about death come up – it’s just weird.

It’s more and more every single day! But whatever for now. Is just odd lately.

So earlier today, I asked my daughter what her preference was for dinner? She said spaghetti 🍝 and meatballs.

So ok cool, that’s easy and yummy and the perfect thing for a cooking lesson – right?? Lol

Her response was “but mom, I’m only 13” 🤨 … my response to that was … “…and your point?”

I did not want to go total “parent” on her and be like “when I was 13” lol… I would just get eye rolls 🙄

But it’s fun to cook something you like together. Special moments while you have them, ya know?

And it’s a recipe that once you figure out your own tastes – you can tweak to how you like?

I only know American things – or how “I” do it.

I teach her my ways, and I’m always on the hunt for new things to try. But for now, she learns my way.

This is how I make when I have time ❤️

It’s not my recipe, someone gave it to me years and years ago and I just loved it!! I can’t take credit for it, but it is delicious, and your house smells amazing. I had time to do it really good today, cause it simmers ❤️

I used to make HUGE batches because the boys used to eat a lot… but when is just “me and her” – I scale it back by half – it still makes a lot – and we always have left overs… but that’s fine with me.

Also, I tweak recipes – both in size or way I want it. This will be how made today, small half sized version. But still a lot!!!

Sometimes I am just a “dump cook” …meaning if I have made the recipe enough times – I just eyeball it. But I have all the recipes I love written down so I don’t forget them, and so my kids can just have them all someday- if they want.

So here is how I make the meatballs…

Meatballs

1/2 lb ground beef

1/2 lb Italian sausage

About 1/4 cup bread crumbs

1 egg, beaten

1 – 2 cloves minced garlic

1/2 tsp Italian seasoning

1 tsp parsley flakes (or use 2 tsp fresh parsley)

1/4 cup Parmesan cheese

1/2 – 1 tsp salt (or however you like it)

1/8 tsp black pepper (or again however you like it.

Then I just mix that all together, and make balls lol 😄✌️

I bake them at 375 degrees – for maybe 20 minutes – they are gonna simmer in the sauce anyway.

(I freeze some, for later – we do not eat all that lol)

The sauce is easy but it has to simmer…

The Sauce 🍝

1 28oz can of crushed tomatoes

15 oz Tomato purée

1/2 a 6oz can tomato paste

1 tsp sugar (you can do more if you like, I don’t really like sugar here, I usually omit the sugar cause I don’t like it in this)

1/2 – 1 tsp salt

1/8 tsp black pepper (I watch the pepper cause daughter has dislike for it, but again play with it to what you want)

1/2 tsp Italian seasoning

1/2 tsp garlic powder

1/2 tbsp parsley flakes (or 1 tsp fresh)

1/4 c grated Parmesan cheese

1 onion, chopped (I make the pieces small because my people are weird with onions lol)

1 clove garlic, minced

I just dump the crushed tomatoes, tomato purée and tomato paste into a pot, and then add 28 oz of water – I just use the can from the crushed tomatoes.

I bring that to a boil and then put it on simmer. Then add the sugar, salt, pepper, Italian seasoning, garlic powder and Parmesan cheese. Make sure everything is mixed. Do not add onions or garlic yet…

I add the meatballs, that I just made…

I put a little oil in a pan and fry the onion and garlic together until tender, THEN I add to sauce, and simmer for about 2-3 hours.

And then we just serve it over pasta.

She already knows how to make this a fast store bought way… but we had time today. ❤️ I am not a fan of store bought, I prefer this way.

Again still makes a lot, but leftovers are awesome!

So we did that today. ❤️🍝✌️

Work just called!!!!!!!!!! Omg

The office manager said to me, “do you remember what we spoke of yesterday?” 🤔

I said “yes but which thing?” … we spoke of many things.

Then…

They just offered me the assistant office manager job on all 3 locations!! I will be working under the office manager and my district manager!!

I said “yes”!! I really didn’t expect even though we spoke of… is a corporation – and it’s corona time so didn’t really expect!

So what month are we? August? I been there since February … through corona … and I did that 👏👏👏 yay!

I start next Monday!! I still do weekends, which is perfect … and now I get training in managing all 3 offices ❤️

I am now an assistant office manager for 3 locations!! Woo hoo!!

I have a home base – which will be my original funeral home. I will park my car there, and when need to jump locations – I can take the company van!

I’m kinda really excited ❤️ no matter what this plumps up my resume and gets me further!!! Yay!!!! – told you “Phoenix” 🦅

Alright so I survived my very first night “on call” – I lucked out… no one died ❤️

So that was good, also no prank calls either – that was also good. Lol

I was ready though – incase anything DID happen. But I am thankful nothing went down. Glad no one died. ❤️

One time when I was younger (in my 20’s) I used to work for an answering service – we answered for government agencies and hospitals/drs etc.

I used to do the overnighters with one other operator.

At the time, my dad was sick with cancer – he had Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma.

One night I was working and a call came to me – it was my dads home health nurse calling in need of an ambulance 🚑 for him 😮😮😮😳

I had to dispatch that for my OWN father 😳😮

I left after that call- but that was hard … you have to still keep composure and be professional… that was my dad so the whole time my heart was worried and aching…

I just knew no matter “who” it was, I had my job to do. Once handled, THEN I got to leave and go to him.

So I know I can handle. I knew I would be fine last night, even IF one came in – was just my first time. You know how those go lol ✌️

Now I am off work ✌️ now I have my own work 🤨😄 never ending loop lol
