Ok. So here we are. It’s Thursday.
I took today “SORTA” off? I did not go in office – but I was avail and worked off the laptop with few things.
Today was my daughters first day back to public school 😮😮😮
For past 2 years she has been “distance learning” from home because of covid.
She chose to come back to life…
😮 lol …
So let me tell you how today went 🙌
It started last night – we laid out everything for the morning and prepared
I asked her, what time should we leave? And she tell me 6am… well ok because we live in the country and it takes me maybe 15/20 min to get to town…
We beat traffic and it be first day so was not sure what to expect 😮😮
Morning wake up when great- she was very excited to be with her people again lol 🙌
She hasn’t really left the house. Except coming to funeral home with me sometimes
So anyway – we get all beautiful lol … and of course smelling nice (I even have her into lotions and perfumes now ❤️🙌) just like me ❤️ lol
She also wanted to wear eyeliner 🤨
She is not a girl who should wear eyeliner. Lol … she is beautiful without that… but also …she just rubs her eyes without thinking and then it be all messy lol
She is not used to make up yet – she really doesn’t need though but whatever
I put a little on her so she could feel confident and beautiful for herself ❤️
And we leave to go to school.
Well first of all – it’s still kinda dark at 6:00am lol … so whatever … we get there and news crews from all the stations are setting up for the news story.
Our area has not had a new high school since 1907!!! 😮😮
So that’s a huge story. My tiny town that grew – now has 2 high schools 😮
Also… the high school is only taking in Grades 9 & 10… freshman and sophomores… so that’s also a small smidgeon of the story – there will be no junior or senior class this year. No graduations until 2024
My daughters class will be the VERY FIRST class to graduate from the school after ALL 4 years 🙌 ❤️
My daughter is a 9th grader (aka Freshman) ❤️ CLASS OF 2025 🙌❤️❤️
As those 2 grade progress through school – the lower grades will then follow them up through the school
The school is absolutely beautiful and enormous 😮 so I’m sure the news was also showing off the new school. We are really proud and excited about it lol
And then back to school after covid isolation and distance learning, coming to brand new gigantic high school campus – another huge story.
And then of course just the first day of school in general lol
So was all over our local news today lol … but they were setting up when we got there …
We were first ones there other than the news stations lol 😮🤨
So I said ??? What time is school start?
At the time I asked that – it was maybe 6:30? And she tell me 8:30 🤨🤦♀️ I forgot a detail 🙄 I entrusted her with that detail, and she is my daughter… and I do like early …so the apple didn’t fall very far in this aspect lol – but time judgement is a thing lol
Whatever – so I made her take tons of photos lol ❤️🙌
And I also had brought my work laptop 💻… so did a little work while we waited lol ✌️
I used my phone as my hotspot 🙌❤️ (drains my fricken battery though 🤨)
Then time approached – and she saw her friends. Everyone ran at each other 😳 and they jumped in each other’s arms practically knocking each other over lol …
Then the whole group of them (about 8) are just hugging and jumping up and down with squeals lol ❤️
Those smiles today WERE NOT coming off of their faces!! Lol ❤️
They let me take a few more pics with all of them and then I had to leave.
You know how when you send them to kindergarten you have to unwrap them from your leg? Lol … ❤️❤️
Well in high school that reverses lol – I didn’t wanna leave lol ❤️❤️✌️
I still worked from home today – holy crap wait til I tell you all this work stuff!! 😳😮 many things … just like always lol – always something omg omg lol – yes it requires 2 “omg’s”!!
Just wait for that – I might make different post for that thing entirely lol 🙄
Anyway… school gets out at 3pm… so I had already planned with her to come late… that way I don’t have to deal with parent traffic ….which I was suddenly reminded of how much I completely HATE PARENT TRAFFIC… ughhhhh 🤦♀️
It’s the worst of the worst kind of traffic!! I need a emoji pulling out hair lol 😵💫
Anyway – so I went late and was STILL clogged 😮😮🙄🤨 but it was first day and all crazy anyway so whatever.
I parked and she came over… big smiles on her face 🥰❤️…
I said “let’s go have pizza 🍕 and you tell me all about everything” 🙌
So we did and I got to hear all about how amazing her day was! ❤️❤️
She saw old friends and even ones from elementary who were split to different middle schools.
And then she said something in a funny way??
She said “… and mum I just made new friends everywhere today – I would just strike up a convo and then we be talking”
Lol …well yes, that is normally how it works lol 😄😄
And so she tell me about this one new girl she met … I hear the whole story and then I asked … what’s her name?
And she says “I dunno” 🤷♀️ lol 🙄😄🤷♀️
So she is just loving school right now lol 🙌❤️
First day – lol 🙌❤️🙌
I hope she loves high school – I hope her experience is amazing – I am afraid of watching the first heartbreak 😮 – boy better run lol 💋✌️
I wish I could share what the mascot is 😄😄😄😄
So…
Was good day for school and things ❤️ (not always the case with work lol) ✌️
After we had dinner and got home… she changed … said she just wanted to lay down and boom 💥 she was out like a light 😄😄😄❤️

Ok so… here we go with 4 years of high school 😳😳🙏🙏🙏 it begins 😳 lol … it should go well… as long as no one catches teenage brain lol 😄😘✌️
It is very hard raising a strong spirited woman when you yourself are also one lol ✌️😘 but we both very loving and compassionate too ❤️
She is a newer more modern version of who I am 😄😄
Which is also how I describe myself and my mother lol – I am the more modern version of MY mom lol
Well anyway – that’s my baby becoming a woman 😳😮😮😮

I don’t watch news – and didn’t know they were gonna be there that morning – I didn’t think or expect 😮🤷♀️
I tried to watch the news that night but I saw really horrific things happening instead so I can’t and turned it off 💔

Sounds a crazy day but a most rewarding one, on the personal front). So pleased your daughter has caught up with friends and is full of excitement for big school!!

Let’s hope this goes well 🙏 (I just worry because of what I see come at work) that’s difficult to separate

I want her to have life and to have moments and experiences… she wanted this so I had to let her have it after 2 years of being at home always.
She’s loving it – so I love to see that ❤️ I want that for her
I want her to be safe too – she is fully vaccinated and also masked at all times – which is good … but still the delta variant is getting worse – so it’s hard when you see those things at work and everyone’s like yay life lol
But how long to stop life? So I let her make her choice. I hope goes ok 🙏
