Alright … so… when I was hired… back in February 2020…

There were 2 funeral homes, but working together. They needed weekend support and wanted weekend only to do office work.

Two of us were hired…

There is me… a mom, used to doing everything lol ✌️😘… plus I am old school… if you are being paid to work, then you find work to do. Period.

The other one they hired is a young girl… 21, still at home with parents… she has a funeral background – she was an attendant (we have attendants we can hire if we need help with services, but that’s been on hold since COVID-19, we handle ourselves currently – services have been light)

They complain all the time cause the other girl is just on her phone literally all day – she is one of those who’s face does not come away from the phone. They have spoken to her numerous times.

But whatever… a few weekends ago… they had me cover a service at the other funeral home.

These 2 funeral homes are sister homes – in same network… and we are governed by the same district manager and same office manager.

Both are young women… mid-30’s. Very nice – enjoy them very much… I even share my birthday with the district manager ❤️ we are birthday twins!! Lol

I love MY funeral home cause we have each other’s backs … we work together and help each other ❤️ I love that ❤️

I just like mine better all around. But I am a loyal type anyway. I am also extremely communicative. Like above and beyond… I am also sincere and I don’t lie either.

I speak freely etc etc … they are taking awhile to fully train me but I know they are busy and we have had COVID-19 to deal with so has been hard.

I have been trained on the things I would deal with on weekends but not full on training.

I think mine is aiming to put me as the office manager for my location – that way the other one does not need to do a duel duty between the 2.

Anyway… when my funeral home calls to see if I can work… they check with the district manager to make sure is ok. We are trying to keep costs low and on a truly needed basis.

Usually is fine and not any issues… they even had approved me to cover the other funeral home a few weeks ago.

But like I said, I share my birthday with the district manager so she has been away on vacation for her birthday and will return after the 8th

I guess since she has been away, the other funeral home is pulling all kinds of stunts – everything they were not supposed to do… they have been doing 😳😮

I have heard rumors about them, but ya know… that’s hear say from other people… I don’t believe unless I see for self

This other funeral home called me on Friday – I only know one of the girls and she’s the one who called me

Asked if I could work today “Monday” … well yes if they ask sure – is a paycheck and usually they don’t ask unless it’s been approved.

The rumors I heard about this funeral home was that, is every man for himself – none of them help each other

I had not met the woman I worked with today, until today.

Her and the one who asked me to cover, I guess are pals?

The district manager has been laying down rules and regulations – which is fine with me…

Also… I do not compare myself to anyone else ever! And I could care less what someone else has or whatever…

I go in, help as much as I can, learn things… etc – I love my girls – they have been amazing to me since literally day one

I am older than them, but that doesn’t bother me…

The woman I worked with today has been in the funeral business for over 35 years … so she butts heads with the young mid 30’s woman who is the district manager…

Today that funeral home put me in the middle … they did not ask for clearance went and did upon themselves. (Is fine I will still be paid, but it’s gonna ruffle feathers because they didn’t ask)

My girls are like a hmm?? Click? But we all mesh really really well… no power trips nothing … we support each other and it’s a wonderful environment and it shows in our performance.

I was a little shocked today cause I was actually working and the woman went on break… it got really busy… but I have handled at my own funeral home so I can handle with ease… she came running out and I said… go back to your lunch, I’ve got it under control, don’t worry.

She smiled and went to go back to lunch but then turned and said … I am not used to this 😮

Total break down in that office… and half the girls are against each other

Also… when I was hired … initially they were going to place me at that funeral home but the district manager changed her mind (thank god) and placed me with the one I am at.

However … online with the things I need – I am listed at that funeral home… it needs to be changed so I can get into things on my own log on. That will be fixed after the 8th

But the woman today was like “you should be here with us”

In my mind – I was like Oh my god! No lol … I wanna stay with mine!! I love mine – I love my girls!!! I fit perfectly!!

This one seems very umm divided… I don’t want that… that type of working environment is horrible. No thank you!!

And mine trusts me completely!! Trusts my decisions, trusts my work… trusts my word.

I truly love mine ❤️

They called me today… the duel office manager wanted to know who asked me to come in… so I told her not knowing what was going on…

Then one I am close to called… and kinda filled me in of the details… what was going on.

Also asked me to report back any issues I see 😮

So that was some stuff I did not expect to ever have issues with – I thought we all are a team ??

We do have 2 other funeral homes in close connection… I have not been to either one of those … lol I wanna say – I just wanna do mine, no others lol

But whatever – I just don’t like being in the middle… I feel like a pawn ♟

What kills me is… these are grown women… we are not in high school anymore…

The goal of our job is to help people with the funeral, closure and get through the difficulties of losing a loved one. Period.

Mine works like a well oiled machine and we all adore each other ❤️

But there is a rivalry – and the other one does not work together at all. It felt stressy with that heaviness 😮

And I do not want to be in that room when the district manager comes back and hears all the things they have been doing.

Another thing … this woman I worked with today was talking about the duel office manager …

Umm I like the office manager

And then the office manager called to speak to her and she was all joking and happy on the phone with her … but gets off and tells me bad things 🤨

So I watch that… going behind someone’s back…

If you can’t say to their face – do not say at all!!

I just feel like saying “how old are we?”

So there just seemed to be a play for power with the district manager and office manager … against the other 2 girls in that office.

I totally forgot all about power plays and women not supporting each other cause mine does so well with that… I have a really good team

So was just a new development I was not aware of until today.

I hope they do not try to get me over there – hopefully district manager would ask me first – I am pretty sure she would because she adores me… I have really good communication with my girls because I make the effort for that!!

If I have issues – I say them directly… I don’t attack or try to override … I just state the issue… and give supporting details – and they help me work on that.

I prefer women supporting each other – I am very much so, all about support of other women.

Just kinda blew my mind today… was like seeing cracks 😮

Ok I be back – I have to throw away trash which is far and is getting dark lol… I have to hurry before creatures come out lol ✌️

After I posted last night, we went to bed… she wanted to sleep with me last night (she saw a bug in her room) so whatever fine… I don’t mind – just go to sleep lol

When my head hits that pillow, I am out!! I’ve just been zonking out, I’m so exhausted!

As I closed my eyes last night, she was next to me “giggling” on her phone 🤨…

I said “hey don’t stay up, work tmrw” (for the thousandth time)

I woke up before my alarm went off and she’s still over there on her phone 😳

It was dark still so I didn’t know what time it was… what time is it?

And she says “I dunno”

Well what time?

Umm it’s 4 😳😮😮😮 4am!!! Put that phone down!!!! Go to sleep!! You are not going to be functioning today!!!

Ok ok

And she did, but then like 5 minutes later my alarm went off – was set at 5am 🤨

This woman told me 4… but not the minutes – so was probably 4:55 🤨😮

So I was like “ok do you just want to stay home while I work?”

No no I wanna come, just wake me at 10… 🤨 we have to leave by 10:30/11 …

I have to wake the zombie 🧟‍♀️… have it come to life 🤨… hopefully peacefully … feed it, have it get dressed and ready

Some people are slow… I am slow in areas also – but not getting ready.. I have places to go and things to do – snap snap lol ✌️

So… woman is going to pay today for staying up all night

So now… she handed me the power lol ✌️… cause the first time she complains about being tired … I am going to be sharing some lessons with this little one today lol ✌️

I am exhausted… I am working other funeral home tmrw. I have only had bits and pieces of time to read … tmrw I work, I should have time on Tuesday because that is MY day ❤️ … and then Wednesday I can’t remember what’s going on this Wednesday – I have to check my schedule – anyway working other funeral home tmrw – we have to get to bed.

She’s coming with me… she wants to – so whatever … I think she just wants to check out another funeral home lol … she just sits there on her phone

I told her about the walls in the office lol 😄✌️she thinks no big deal… I even showed her the pic… ok well wait til your eyes see it in person lol

We don’t have to be there really early so should be fine… I just have to wake a teenage girl 😳✌️ I never know how that’s gonna go.

Today at work… I was learning about Muslim Burials … I have to learn about them all … but we had a Muslim family today.

Some religions and cultures have very specific rituals and ways everything has to be done and carried out.

I am still new, so I am learning currently.

It’s similar to Jewish – in the way of washing the body and wrapping in a shroud. Also must be done very timely. Embalming is not allowed for either one, Jewish or Muslim

I have seen a few Jewish services so far, this is my first Muslim one. Came in today, so I’m gonna learn this.

Cremations are forbidden.

Anyway so was just learning about that today. I like learning these things. I had never thought about it before I worked for a funeral home.

I don’t want cremation either… on a personal level it just bothers me. It just does – I know it’s cheaper, but bothers me. I would prefer burial. I know I will be dead… but I do prefer burial.

I just want a nice peaceful simple burial. Quiet 🤫

I know this is a morbid convo sorry I worked in this all day.

Anyway… I was learning today so just thinking. ✌️

We didn’t get home until almost 9pm!! And is past 11pm now. We have to get to sleep

It is hard to catch up with reading when I am trying to do things! I hate not being on top of it!! Sorry… I will soon, I’m just going to be far behind for a minute

I did not have enough time to post last night – it went so late.

It was amazing though… we had all the summer foods, it was perfect temp… all of our actual fireworks shows had been cancelled…

But no worries!! California boarders Mexico, Nevada and we also have Washington and Oregon over here … they ALL sell the fireworks California only lets professionals have. Those are the illegals lol

It was funny … right at dusk as the sun was setting – CHP (the police) had all their helicopters 🚁 going … every year they try to stop the illegals lol – every year they fail lol ❤️✌️

There was no way they were going to be able to control last night…

They were flying around to try to see where their problem areas were gonna be …

But SOOOO many were lighting off those illegals ❤️… I believe they gave up and let us have it!! I did not see one police car or officer. (Thank you PD ❤️)

There was just no way they would be able to handle – it was insane – all over the place!! ❤️

We came in about 11:30pm… I had to work today and had pushed it with that… but I had to ❤️ I love that ❤️

Those fireworks 💥 were being set off until about 1:30/2am 😮 I would have stayed up for all of it… but you know “priorities” 🤨😄✌️

She sent me to work with 2 big boxes of food from yesterday lol… even though I told her I can’t be comatose at work lol 😄

She said … well just take it, eat what you can lol… then she starts getting ready to make me breakfast – umm no!!! Do not do that…

There is no way I can eat so much food like that!!! Not in one sitting and still function 🤨😄 I need training for that lol

She just thinks I am too skinny so she is trying to fatten me lol … she just worries 🥰

I have a friend mom lol ❤️

She’s an amazing friend ❤️🥰❤️

Besides everything she does for me… She the one, that I don’t agree with her lifestyle… she is complete opposite of me.

And when I met her, through my daughter – I had just been diagnosed and they were about to shove me in surgery…

Guess who was there when I open my eyes… yeah she was ❤️

I am cautious so I was not sure how to take her, and she is very different from me.

But I had moments that I needed help, guess who helped ? ❤️ yeah her

She would go slow… she would help me, and then let me handle ❤️ …

I am stubborn… some might call it hard headed lol 😘✌️

If I believe in something… I am strong with it. Come at me bro lol kidding 😘 don’t do that lol … but I am very strong with ideas I believe in ❤️✌️ morals too. For my own self ✌️

Anyway… oh so many times we have discussions and disagreements lol 😄😄❤️

Cause I believe in stuff – but then there is reality ✌️ I am a dreamer 😘✌️ I am level headed mostly lol, but a dreamer.

Anyway… I am different than her 😄😄 …

I like her strength ❤️ she has a fearlessness with some things and is very smart

I see things she doesn’t … and she sees things I don’t – so that works ✌️

She will meet someone and call me and say… hey… I just met this person, they are like you 😄😄… “what do they mean by…” lol … it’s funny

She is German … her mother is from Germany 🇩🇪… her mother lives near me…

So her mother is one of the ones I visit and bring things to… or did… I still drop stuff off.

Her mother is adorable, thick thick thick accent ❤️ Oh my god! So adorable!!!

And she is so proper… her mother is like me lol

Because her mother is also very cautious of people… her mother understands me there ❤️ we are 2 peas in a pod with that lol

She’s just really cute – and I don’t think she MEANS to be funny? Cause she’s on the serious side …

I have a serious side too, but she just does the cutest funniest things ❤️ I fricken love her mother

When I say that to my girlfriend, “oh you have a really cute funny mom” …

My girlfriend says … “You are not her child” 😄😄

Anyway… my girlfriend would help me, and then step back – she let me come to her slowly.

She made me smile, and has been loyal ❤️ she’s not my usual type? Just so different? But I dunno, fits like a puzzle piece 🧩

She told me last night – She was gonna invite her mom, but is best not to because it was the 4th…

You do not want to be out on the roads on the 4th of July – or pretty much any major holiday 🤨 … cause people can’t handle alcohol so ya know … Russian roulette – that why we stayed – is far from me, and I knew be late. The later it is, the higher your chances go 🤨🤨🤨

You have to think of these things!! It’s true

But anyway… they are family… maybe not blood… but I love them like that ❤️

I had the most wonderful 4th… possibly best yet!!

Just for the fact – all the big city displays were cancelled – everyone planned ahead!!! Everyone had fire works – you didn’t have to go anywhere ❤️💥🇺🇸💥 I just didn’t know where to look 😮 … and I had those I love with me ❤️❤️❤️

So much food and so much awesomeness ❤️🥰❤️ I love summer!!!
