What a Day!

I went out with one of my friends … it was going to be over 100 so we decided to walk the mall and shop when it was open.

The open the mall early (8am) …so people can walk and not have to be outside… but the mall itself doesn’t open the stores until 10am

There is a movie theater in this mall – I typically avoid the mall … I haven’t been to the mall in years 😮 … it’s different 😮

Anyway … spur of moment we went to see Barbie first thing lol

It’s cute. And funny in spots … has adult references, what is this rated? PG-13 … I would say for the older child, but not the young ones.

Lots of pink and Barbie stuff …

Also – funny thing 😄😄😄 … these people going to the movie omg … most girls all decked out in pink or with Barbie shirts 👚… and some of the women were in total Barbie outfits – these are normal people just going to see the movie like us 😄

They do not work for the theater or movie company – just normal people all TOTALLY Barbie’d out 😮😮

Did not realize this was this mega of a thing … I didn’t even wear pink … can you guess what color I wore?… lol yup … black lol … that’s most of my clothes and I’m not emo

But tan shorts with white tennis shoes … only my shirt was black lol … my skin was pink… so that was my pink

She was all impressed by the seats cause they are mechanical recliners… and we even had extra special seats than that, for some reason ?? whatever not gonna question – Bonus!

No wonder I am half deaf … all those years of prior movies 😄😮 damn that shit is loud! What? 👂

Omg was so LOUD! Wow… I got old 😮

But it was loud and I think we were right by a speaker

Cute though, sweet morals – little feminism … but not overly bad and kept it light bubbly and happy – brightness to it. But it’s Barbie 😘

Afterwards we shopped in Macys and I bought a pink and black shirt and black pants lol

I did not by the pink and black shirt because of Barbie lol

It is silky flow professional shirt that feels like not wearing a shirt … but is sharp for work 👏

I also bought the most awesome pair of black pants 👏 … also for work… they look really good… is form fitting yet comfy… so win win on both … and they match perfectly 👏

Just so happened was pink 😘✌️.. it’s hot pink lol

Then we went furniture shopping and then it was 5pm – omg where did day go 😮 how long is that movie? Lol … ya know a good 30 minutes past start time was all stupid previews and commercials

And then we ate at Amy’s lol … she loves that place ❤️ I do too

Oh yeah – and I had to pee because I had gotten the largest soda ever lol … but you can’t just pause so I had to wait and omg 😱 we were like first ones out

And good thing too because the line for bathroom after us was insane 😮 … I woulda been in trouble 😳 … but luckily I was fine

Also… speaking of movies – shout out to Butcher for recommending “Pompo: The Cinéphile”

Anyway … we rented that on Friday and we all LOVED it!! Even me! Lol …

They made me watch it in Japanese so I had the English subtitles on …

They don’t like English dubbed shows because they say that the English voice actors mess up the emotion and don’t do it right lol … they say is way better in Japanese – so that’s how we watched it lol

They wanted me to experience the true emotion lol

Anyway – like I said – we loved it 👏 ❤️- thank you again … and they were surprised I know of it lol – and I was surprised I liked it

Ok well I have to sleep – I am late to sleep by ALOT 😮

  1. Ima Barbie Girl, strangely was playing in my head yesterday morning long before your reference and l have no idea why! All morning, l had this song in my head hahahaha.

    Funny story about women weeing – when l lived at home with my parents l grew up thinking women never made a noise peeing because l never heard the women in my house make any noise. When l left home l went on a date and l was standing in the porch waiting for the date to come down, and she went to the toilet first which happened to be above the porch – l was shocked to hear this tinkling noise – l never knew women made a noise peeing [due to my mother/sister never making wee noises]. That was my first introduction to realising women peed noisily – but if l thought that was noisy, the next real noisy time was years later when l was dating Suze and it was when my dog Scrappy was alive.

    Suddenly Suze declared she needed a wee and she had been holding it in for ages, and ages and ages, but she had had a large soft drink before we started our walk.

    So she ran off into the shrubbery and left Scrappy and l standing guard to watch out for other walkers … suddenly – Scrappy and l heard this amazing sound, it was like a giant waterfall – Scvrappy and l were stunned, so much so, l kid you not, my dog looked at me as if to say “Blimey Dad, what’s that noise!!?”

    It sounded like a cow peeing, it was immense.

    When Suze came out we both looked at her in awe!

    She said “Well it’s not easy squatting in the wild with two litres of pee in your bladder that you have been holding in for three hours! It is bound to make a noise!!”

    We did all laugh, so l can imagine how you really needed to pee after Barbie 🙂

      Yeah you should have seen the size of the barrel of a drink I had … I didn’t know would be so large and didn’t think would be an issue 😮😄 but kinda was lol

      My mom used to say “like a race horse” cause you race to get to bathroom and then it’s like that lol

      How funny 😄

      But yes I had to go soooo bad – there was no pause or intermission lol… luckily we first to bathrooms – screw the credits lol ✌️😄

      Usually I like to stay and watch the credits but not yesterday 😄

      1. Hahaha, l am always in admiration of a woman’s ability to hold it in. But then it’s not like us where you can just nip behind an ‘anything’ whip it out and just pee as Suze would say. “Men don’t know how easy they have it!” She is right.

  2. Amazing day for you. I was at the mall yesterday as well. What a coincidence 🤩 I didn’t watch the movie though just spent some time with my friend snacking. But we were sitting at the cafeteria and the exit from the Cineplex is just behind cafeteria… We saw huge influx of girls coming out in pink stuff like you described. We just knew looking at those people they coming out after watching Barbie 😂😍 so we laughed about it was fun to see so much pink coming out of the door.

    I also watch most of the Korean and Japanese stuff in their local language with subtitles on. Never like the dubbed versions. Always mess up. Subtitles work for me ❤️

  3. I have a bunch of Studio Ghilbi (sp??) movies to watch in Japanese.

    Barbie had one of the biggest opening weekends of all time! I looked up reviews and the negatives had only 2 themes (1) not like Greta Gerwig’s other films (Duh!); (2) men complaining that it man-bashed.

    How much is Ryan in it? I’m still only interested in my retro-Joel perspective.

      She’s young only 39 – and she was born in Sacramento 😊❤️

      She’s got good credits to her name

      And Barbie was good – am glad we went and saw 👏 eventually I will buy it for my movie selections

      It wasn’t actually man bashing but did show men in a less than desirable light within todays world reality

      Just how women are not equals 🟰 kinda draws attention slightly to that

      In Barbie’s world it’s women ruling and in real world it’s men

      Who complained ? Men? Lol

      Ryan is in it quite a bit actually – mainly the movie follows Barbie … but so does he 😄😄

      5. Yeah. Around Dec 4 every year, there would be an option to turn on snowflakes. Anyone viewing a post would see them all over the screen – cute but not blocking view.

        I wish I’d gotten out of my HM car and walked, back before there were cameras everywhere.

        The last time I went (20+ yrs ago), an odd amount of stuff in the Mansion was cheap neon colors. Dunno what that was about.

        I despise SmallWorld! Soooo boring!!

        Did you go on the ride with the whale mouth? Across from the teacups? I don’t think I’ve ever been on it!!

        I like the carousel and the stupid jokes of Jungle Boat.

        I didn’t mind It’s a Small World – it was cute to me and catchy tune lol

        Storybook Land is a Disneyland thing … I’m an east coaster so I grew up mostly at Disney World … we didn’t have that

        I’ve been to Disneyland – but very disappointed in the size compared to World 😮

        Delta used to have a ride at Disney ?? Maybe that was only world? It was called … “If you had wings”

        It was in Tomorrowland ❤️ we liked that one too – has memories

        By the time I was a Kid and going to Disney …the ride for 20,000 leagues under the sea was NEVER in operation but my parents knew it

        I always wondered what that one was like

        I also loved Mr Toads Wild Ride ❤️👏 🐸

      15. I’ve never been to D World but grew up around DLand and used to go a couple times a year.

        I didn’t follow the link yet but am suspecting Wings is/was similar to Soaring Over California at California Adventures (an extension of DLand but seperate admission).

        As a kid, I loved the Shrinking Machine in TomorrowLand and could never decide whether or not we really shrank.

        There used to be conference call phone booths in TomorrowLand and it was an unwritten rule that you’d call your friends.

        20,000 Leagues SUCKED!! They had human mermaids way back when, but not in my time. I read that there’s an option to pay to dive in the one at D World.

        I loved Mr Toad too!!!! My parents thought it was stupid so I was pretty old the first time I rode it.

        The best times I ever had at DLand were the LGBT Center night events. My 2 fondest memories are hearing the Gay Mens Chorus singing somewhere ahead of us in the Splash Mountain line, and the “sidewalk sale”** on Main St at closing.
        **Sidewalk Sale is what we used to call the massive cruising for ladt option hookups after bars closed.

      17. We had the GE “Land of Tomorrow”, or something like that, showing projected future appliances and stuff. I loved it – even when it was way out of date. It became America Sings, then… ???

        The DLand Hotels used to have a bunch of free attractions and a paid option to ride the Monorail. If you didn’t have a park ticket, you got locked in the huge back car. People in the park would be PISSED that they couldn’t get in! The perfect time to ride it was during the Electrical Parade!! None of that exists anymore.

      18. I think our airline sponsored ride was the 360° standing theater that soared over American landmarks. It was a big theater with wide standing rows seperated by handrails. They were needed cause the 360 effect would make you sway and even get dizzy!!

      26. Not sure. Always had sleep issues but they seemed to get 1000x worse when my antidepressent was tripled. That added an inability to stay asleep, after already having issues getting there.

        Since stopping my meds, I have more energy. But, so far, only a small amount is turning into doing things. The rest is being awake but too tired to do much.

        After getting a total of ehrs of sleep on Thu, ending at 4:30 pm, I didn’t got back to sleep till almost 3pm today. No farmer’s mkt (too tired) and no painting (asleep).

        I have been extra exhausted lately – probably from heat … also stress has been waking me up recently

        But I generally do not have a problem falling asleep or staying asleep

        You can’t detox body and start over to see where the body systems do best? That’s not a thing right? Is that a thing?
