The reopen

So here’s how it works “here”… right now we on limited opening… just like last week…

We can operate limited services… only 10 people.

The way this area is going to do it… is if your county has not had a Corona death in 2 weeks – you may fully reopen.

This area just had 4 deaths this week so will remain on limited services while slowly reopen.

Also… one of my managers stopped in.. went over some quick stuff re:reopening and also cut backs

And then she went out of her way to tell me thank you 🥰

At the same time I was hired, there was another girl hired at a sister funeral home… I thought she would be better than me because she has funeral experience and I didn’t

But the manager told me… she does nothing lol… the other funeral home was like … ours does nothing but sit there …

And then my manager smiled at me and said when she got to speak she said “we got the good one, she does everything” lol

Cause I disinfect the whole place – I tidy up… I get everything ready for the week, replace all the supplies, answer the phones, take death calls and then anything else they ask or need … most of the time I do before they even ask. I’ve have even been realphabetizing all the paper files … Cause is a job – I wanna work

The other girl, literally does nothing … so my funeral home was all excited cause they got the good one she say lol ❤️ aww – they are really good to me – right away they make me feel like part of them. I fit right in with them. I just eased right in – that’s how I want things always!

Anyway that was nice. She thanked me and said very appreciated 🥰

Ok I have stuff still – am almost done kinda – I have an hour left

I am really tired!!

There was a funny story too, but maybe later – I have to finish, I’m really close ✌️

    1. It was really nice to be told that, especially since I really didn’t get too much training or instruction before corona hit. I’m lucky they kept me.

On a side note… my boss is a woman lol ✌️

      1. I had a job where all but 1 team member was a blonde woman, up to 3 levels above me. He sole guy, much older, had a blonde wig he’d sometimes wear to meetings. We were a great team… till a reorg broke us apart.

      2. The one above my big boss is a man lol… the rest of us are women lol – woot woot lol kidding – we work really well together too.

        I never see the man lol … I don’t mind that ✌️

      3. It’s rare for women to work well together. I’m glad you ended up in a good situation!

Off topic: your warm rain finally made it here… as sprinkles, just enough to make everything damp. Better than nothing!

      4. Yes very rare … I usually luck out and get some really amazing women… the only time I had a hard time was at police station… I am not typically a police type person… you have to prove yourself kinda?

I keep waiting for this flash flood to come… and my phone keeps going off with flash flood warnings informing me not to drive through water 🤨😄

I look outside and is sunny… cloudy and there are darkness clouds – and we supposed to have nice thunderstorm? But so far I have a flash flood of sun maybe lol 😄✌️

      5. I hope the flash flood misses you. I’ve been in several (never as the driver) and they can be terrifying.

The 1st one to ever happen in this area hit on a work day. I immediately recognized it but others did not. When power failed, they all decided to leave work and got caught in horrible traffic jams from street floods. From our office, I saw an ambulance try to drive over a center divider, to pass traffic, and sink into the grass. Out bldg was on magnetic locks, which released when the power failed, and I was FURIOUS that no men stayed with the handful of women who had the sense not to go out. When it was finally safe to go home, I had a feeling someone was on my apt. I opened the door and it pulled further in… a clear sign someone was in there but I stupidly kept going. Thank gawd it was a friend who, unable to get home, had used my apt for shelter. But how stupid of me!! A coworker had pulled into a parking lot just as the emergency broadcast system came on and thought, “great.. all this AND we’re being bombed by the Russians!”… because it was the first time the system was used for a weather alert!

        Stay safe!!

      6. Oh wow 😮

😳😮 just as I write this I hear thunder in distance …

I have been through them several times myself… don’t mind – love intense weather (I just don’t like tornados 🌪 – but the California ones don’t even qualify lol)

I don’t expect it to be too bad, but I am aware… I’ve just never been in country through one lol ✌️

We under warning until 9 or 10 tonight so we see – it is getting darker

      7. If is rain… I don’t get too nervous. I really love the smell, the view and the fierceness with rain/water … I know the danger – it doesn’t scare me… lived in Florida during some horrific hurricanes … does not scare me in slightest.

I am not in a desert 🌵… I have not experienced one of those flash floods… but I have experienced flash flooding up in the mountains … I am in the foothills – is not usually bad here other than the streams engulfing the streets and trapping you lol … probably why my phone keeps saying don’t drive through water 🤨🙄😄 I wouldn’t – I learned that lesson at 18 lol ✌️😄

Thank you for the good juju 🥰

      8. When we had that flashflood (1996), the friend in my house had found the floor of his brand new car flooded when he decided to head for higher ground. The area around my office was probably 8″ of water. A coworker who drove toward her home near the beach, in a Miata, had a water line on her side windows… I have no idea how the engine didn’t flood!
