So the entire time I have been a mother … I have done this thing on Easter …
I write new riddles every year and place them in plastic eggs with candy 🍬… and then hide them everywhere …
They have to find the eggs to find their baskets 🧺
There was one year – when I was going through all the cancer stuff – I was too sick and was gonna just skip the riddles … until I heard the 3 of them talking and saying how much they loved that part of Easter … ok then lol … well I had to do it then… I never want them let down if I can help it.
So I had my girlfriend help me get the baskets ready and hidden … I was still able to get it done – but that was a difficult year.
I thought about coronavirus and maybe saying Easter bunny didn’t wanna catch it so he had to go really quick lol… but then I still don’t want to disappoint them lol
They all get so happy and thrilled to find each egg – and then their baskets – I really love to see that on their faces and my daughter is just thrilled with excitement!!!!
So I still get the delight to do for them and they still have delight which also delights me … so win win all around!
I can not wait to watch the excitement ❤️
They don’t get elaborate baskets or anything… I do a lot of Cadbury eggs (so I can be guaranteed one from someone lol) jelly bellies, other candy favorites they have … I always put a small stuffed animal… cause who doesn’t love that?!
If I am able and is something not too expensive or large – I will add something they want that is not candy.
And then of course always add a toothbrush lol
I do my own little religious thing with them – we will watch the Pope …

But otherwise I do my own private religious things with them on Easter.
Then we will have a nice Easter dinner usually – I’m still doing something nice just not as elaborate as usual. They are gonna have to wait until I get home from work to do Easter with me though … I leave too early
When I was a kid taking CCD classes (Catholic) … I used to love Easter because that meant I got to stay up late and watch every single really long movie about Easter – It was always “Jesus of Nazareth” usually or something like that
When I was in middle school… we did church retreats 🤨 right before Easter … Overnight weekend trips like camp 🤨…
I hated those!! Ugh!!! Except for one year … the camp counselors put in charge were awesome!!! They were teenagers getting ready for their confirmation …
Well they let these teenagers pick the movie for us little kids… they did not pick a church movie 😄… instead they picked…
“Stripes” 😮😄😄😄 … lol we were kids lol… that was rated R!! Lol
But I loved it!!!! Then I went home and kept reciting lines from the movie during Easter and my mom was like “umm where did you see that?” … church lol
I love Easter traditions ❤️… and memories of my own

I don’t have any Easter traditions. Last year we still had a lot of kids near me so I hid plastic eggs with candy and coins in their yards. One was found months later!!
I found 4 glittered fake eggs awhile back. Maybe I’ll put them out tonight for kids to find while walking with their parents.

Did you have traditions when you were a kid?
Once when I was a kid – we would always hide the eggs we spent so much time coloring … we would do that over and over on Easter morning … well someone (I can’t remember who was) forgot where they hid one and we were missing one egg lol … we looked and looked and nope couldn’t find…
Until my mother found maybe about a week or 2 later when it started to smell 😄😄 oops

I’m sure we searched for easter eggs when I was young but I don’t remember it.
I know we got easter baskets left on the fireplace because one year our dog ate ALL the chocolate. Fortunately, chocolate isn’t nearly as dangerous as people imply (onions and grapes are far more dangerous) so we only had to deal with glittery colorful poo for a week (she ate the foil wrappers too).

Yeah we just had baskets too… no hunt for the baskets just baskets… we would hide the eggs we colored… and do that over and over lol until someone lost an egg lol
I have one dog that is like that… his favorite candy is Whoppers – he steals them lol 😄🤨 … as long as he stays away from my Cadbury eggs – we good lol
Kidding but he does love and steal whoppers lol
He once ate a brand new package of spearmint gum I had on the table 🤨 I was worried that be dangerous but he was fine
He’s also my faker 🤨 he jumps around like a circus animal and then hurts himself – you think he’s severely hurt – take him to the vet and then … oh suddenly he’s fine 🤨😄 the little shit lol ❤️

SugarFree gum & foods can kill dogs (the xylitol) but most others are survivable.
I remember dying eggs but no memory of them after that. I’m sure we hunted for them then ate egg salad for a week!

Yeah that’s why I was terrified – but was just regular fun – I can’t do diet anything and don’t like it anyway.
