San Francisco

I wanted to share something really cool … but I haven’t figured out how to do it yet? I’ll work on that, seeing as I have plenty of time to now learn this stuff.

Well anyway… I can’t sleep. I was just looking at some photos and videos … so I’ll share these instead for now…

This is my area of the world… well sorta – I live about 2 hours away. We can just drive there, spend the day, and come home. (Under normal circumstances of course)

These aren’t the greatest photos, was just a day trip we took to visit.

That’s the Golden Gate Bridge off in the distance – we didn’t go that way on this trip… we took the Bay Bridge instead.

Pier 39

Pier 39 is always crowded but really cool … I can’t share some of the best photos because I am in them. I will have to remember that next time – do not be in the photos lol … I just never planned on sharing

Fisherman’s Wharf

I LOVE Fisherman’s Wharf!! It’s amazing there! You have music and smells of all kinds of food wafting through the air, shops, and street vendors – plus there are entertainers of all kinds!! It’s just amazing!

At night

That’s AT&T Park… where the San Francisco Giants play (Baseball – I love baseball ⚾️) The Giants are not my team… I am from Massachusetts so I still stay with the Boston Red Sox, even out here. But I love baseball anyway, I really love when my Red Sox come and play either the Giants or the Athletics … then I get excited!! And talk a lot of shit – which I also love ❤️

That’s Alcatraz … aka… The rock… the tour is amazing!! We didn’t do that on this trip though.

Mmmm … chocolate ❤️ San Francisco’s big chocolate factory is Ghirardelli. (Am I a traitor if my favorite chocolate is Cadbury? lol) … but I love chocolate anyway… so bring it on ❤️

These next pictures … so the reason we went to San Francisco this time – was because my girlfriend wanted to see the houses from the TV show Full House… we did sight seeing and then hunted these down… you see these houses and this park in the intro to the show… she had us running all over the city for these sites 🙄😄

Here is the intro to the show…

And here are my photos… they call these houses “the painted ladies”

And that’s pretty much it… the rest of the photos we are in the pictures. So I just feel more comfortable leaving those out. Sorry – next time I’ll remember

I have another girlfriend who is all about John Travolta 🙄😄… I went down to the LA area with her and same thing 🤨😄 make me hunt down scenes from Grease lol … but it’s fun! So whatever … that one even pin pointed the beach in the opening scenes of Grease lol

Oh lord 🙄😄 but is funny ❤️ and it is fun.

Well anyway… that’s bits and pieces of San Francisco… my area ❤️✌️

Ps… every single time I go there and we have to go over either the Bay Bridge or the Golden Gate… in my mind I always think… please god no earthquakes while I’m on a bridge!! Please do not send the BIG ONE!! Lol ✌️

  1. Oh wow, seeing the Painted Ladies reminded me of the 1990 film Pacific Heights with Keaton, Modine and Griffin – it’s one and the same area isn’t it? Mind you those houses have been used in a lot of films 🙂

A great interesting post – thanks for the sharing of it

    1. Yes I believe so… they are very famous!

It is estimated that they have been used in over 70 films and TV Shows.

Invasion of the Body Snatchers (1978)

      Junior (1994)

      Full House (1987-1995)

Not exactly filmed at the Painted Ladies, but only located about one mile north of Alamo Square at 2640 Steiner St., the 1993 film Mrs. Doubtfire was shot on this and other San Francisco locations.

Other films that have used Alamo Square are Murder in the First, Nine Months, and The Conversation.

Author Alice Walker (The Color Purple) used to live in one of the homes – even having house concerts until the neighbors complained about the same song was being played over and over.

    1. You should!! San Francisco is awesome!! You have that main strip with Fisherman’s Wharf and Pier 39… has all the shops and tourist things … Alcatraz is really something!!!

My dads secretary – her father was a guard at Alcatraz during one of the riots they had. The guard had to live on the Rock too with their families. The history is just incredible

They also have a Chinatown which is really cool!!

The architecture of homes and buildings is incredible!!!

Is very hilly … they have a street called Lombard Street which is the “crookedest” street in the WORLD!!! …Has a 27-degree angle, and features 8 hairpin turns among landscaped flowerbeds. Lol is fun!! Crazy and only like a block long – but amazing!!

And then you also have the science museum which is incredible and they have this incredible planetarium!!

You also have all the famous movie/tv sights, and historical sights … it’s pretty amazing!!

Even the business district is pretty cool… those buildings are beautiful and rich

It’s massively expensive to live in San Francisco!!

If you have a chance you have to come visit!! I can definitely tell you where to go or show you!!

It’s definitely an incredible city! It’s cold there a lot cause is right on the Pacific Ocean … but sometimes if my temps inland hit over 100, then once in a blue moon – San Fran can get in the 90’s!!

They are so cool usually that they don’t have air conditioners generally. Well in the homes. But it’s not needed

And they are known for fog.

But is definitely a really beautiful city to visit – very rich in culture and entertainment … and history! ✌️
