Oh my god! Whew!! I am exhausted today!! We had a service so that was crazy from minute got to work… then we have services Monday and Tuesday… and one family just dropped off the photos to be put together for a photo montage to be done with music and the whole 9 for Monday … got that all done… omg so many pictures and had to crop and design the layout, music… that’s for Monday morning… and then stuff for Tuesday’s funeral … there are occasions when gets insane crazy… and the phone is ringing – people coming to the door – omg 😳 … there was not peace today lol
But that’s ok – keeps your blood pumpin right?
Whew!! Oh my god! Totally need a massage!!! Won’t get one – but Oh my god! Lol – I dream of one lol
But yes … most of time is pretty chill on weekends – but comes in waves… lots of deaths and funerals this week 😮
I know you don’t think of that aspect do you.. I didn’t either but can’t control when people die so when happens you have to take it all on. This was craziest I have experienced so far!! 😮
Still loved it though… and made time fly… I’m just exhausted and my body aches tonight.
I’ve observed that babies are often born in waves (lots on the weekend) but, aside from a mass murder never thought about death that way too.
Long ago, when computer graphics was very new, I did a funeral program for a reverend. 16 pages!! Designed, printed, and assembled after work. It was a challenge but very interesting. It was a black Baptist funeral in South Central LA… also very interesting… very much like shown in movies!!
Yeah, death is very much like births… someone comes into the world and someone else checks out. We just don’t like to think about death or we ignore it until it’s forced on us (usually)
The one I worked on was sad… a father – younger than me by 5 years.
I have photos just like his… same time frame.
They had his baby photos all the way to when he passed. That’s why I love photos… is a life in pictures – preserves the memory. There were tons of photos.
It came out really good! The family will be pleased.
We have a huge screen in our service room… when not in use it goes up into the ceiling.
During the service those photos will be playing so people can see the life. It’s quite beautiful. Sad and heartbreaking but beautiful.
It’s pretty cool what you can do for these things on the computer.
I never thought of a funeral home having rush hours, or days.
