So… I work very late today.

I have many stories…

We had to ask a family for a photo… and they give us a photo from like 1940 lol 😄 we needed the photo for the make up artist to help for the viewing.

The director asked “umm, do they still look like that?”

“oh yes” they said, “exactly the same just a little older” lol

“Would you possibly have anything more recent?” and then the recent picture they gave looked nothing like the one from 1940… 😮😳

Flash forward to today… I was working away… one of the girls had to look up someone (next of kin) and went to Facebook … afterwards I said look me up see what is there ?? I forget – plus should be ultra private – you see nothing but a few photos

They did… my profile picture is me at maybe 4?

When they saw it – they were like omg!!! That is sooo you!!

I laughed and said yeah just a little older lol 😄✌️

They laughed but then kept going on and on about how my eyes are exactly the same 😮

That is true though ✌️ I have beautiful eyes 😘 only the color changes but not them. They are a green blue – changes with clothes and seasons. They always attract attention.

Was just funny they see me in the eyes ❤️ I didn’t expect them to really notice because I am older and wear make up … but my eyes are the same as they were.

I also still have the same look as in that photo 😄✌️

How funny is that? Lol

I went to Yelp – I have an account on Yelp – I Yelp 😄✌️

I write reviews … 99% of my reviews are good – I only have one bad review that I have given for a flower company – that one “From You Flowers”

That was the worst experience I have ever had with a flower company!! So yes I gave them a bad review. They suck!

Anyway… I went on Yelp. I normally only leave reviews after I deal with a company or business. Most I am good with. I will only give bad review if was seriously bad!!

Also – keep in mind – I don’t know your social media stuff – I completely ignore all social media and have nothing to do with it. ✌️

I was not aware that Yelp is somewhat social lol …

So I went on Yelp this morning and was reading reviews on AC/heat businesses … I found one with great reviews and there was a “button”

The button said “click here to request a quote”

So I thought I was requesting a quote from that one company – but instead it requested a quote from the entire Sacramento/Northern California area 😮🤨

So needless to say – my phone blew up today 🤨 and they all knew my name 🤨 because is on my Yelp lol

Well that actually helped me – cause I got a lot of bullshit from companies who want to charge me just to come see – you have to be insane if you think I’m gonna pay you to just come look.

You want the job or don’t you? I am not paying $120 a pop – for 3 pops … no thank you!

If you charge me before you do any work- that tells me your work is questionable and you have no idea how to handle customer service – why would I wanna deal with you? Next

So yeah I gave those answers … if you gonna charge me forget it – I will find someone else thank you – your services are not needed or wanted.

I’m dealing with a corporations money here so you either gonna be up front and honest and know how to deal with customers or forget it. I am not dealing with shitty companies with questionable work.

I do not play games – heart or not – maybe nintendo ✌️ or on Fridays – but this is Monday so no!!

Now if you give me your time, and do that… I see you have good customer service and want work. You have a better chance with me.

Out of all the area… I got 2 – who did what I wanted 🙌

Customer is always right – you do not screw over your customer before you even start… also when they want to charge just to look – that also tells me they are going to charge me severely – and that’s also a no!!

Both came out today – both will email me a quote in the morning

And before they even came in… all A/C’s went down!! 😮

Including the ones that were working. One showed me photos of the units …

I have 6 thermostats and 6 units – all located on the roof.

The units were one giant block of ice and no air was getting in because the ice had formed on the unit / one went up in smoke – it shorted

So that will be a thing

And whoever made over the funeral home years ago… painted some of the outtake ducts … so air was not properly flowing 🤨 omg

So that’s a thing. This is why I needed quotes – so I can put together a proposal – corporate will not be too happy with this cost – we need AC I can not be in violation!! That has to be a violation so that needs to be fixed ASAP! No bandaids – fix it!!

You are smart to please me because if you do … I have a whole range of funeral homes who if needed will ask me for a recommendation – I will hand over all the funeral homes

So you really wanna charge me that $120 just to look? Screw that. Not doing that

These 2 guys were more than happy to come out and see the job… so we see the bids tmrw

Some were pushy with me and wanted to just come do the work without a bid – slow your roll Buddy… that’s a no!!

Also before they can start any work – I need all their documentation, insurance and bonding.

Plus if you gonna be pushy with me- I’ll shut you right down!!

I’ll give you warning message – but if you continue – I’m done – goodbye – you won’t have a chance if you wanna be pushy. I’ll be done with you so fast

I don’t do pushy… I don’t like it – I don’t listen – and I’m not dealing with it – I am the customer!! So you wanna play games – so c’mon come up against me …

We have to sell too… but I do not agree with being pushy. Especially NOT with our families in mourning.

My girls offer packages and things the families to buy – the corporation makes them at least show the families what we offer. They can not write a contract without at least showing them. Many don’t know all the things we offer

Also let me touch on something else that came up today at work… I had someone telling me their experience with other funeral homes and I was appalled 😮

So let me tell you this because maybe people don’t know?? …

You don’t deal with funerals everyday like I do… so let me tell you…

When you lose someone – you have to think the funeral home you pick will be who holds your hand through everything

They gonna be beside you through everything!!

Call… take up their time … I don’t care what is on my plate or what I am in middle of… I will take my time and explain or go over things with you – you are important to me.

You are very welcome to call and ask questions!! Call around for info and price lists … see how comfortable you are with them. Grill them! It’s a business – you hold the purse strings – you demand what you want

Any funeral home that is worth it and wants your business – will take the time for you.

These are the people who gonna walk through death with you – so make sure you like them, and are comfortable with them. You have every right to be comfortable and at ease with someone walking you through that!!

We are like any other business … you are our customer … I will bend over backwards to make sure you happy and at ease.

Read our reviews – talk to others in the area … see what they have to say about us.

See how we are with you… do we make you feel cared for? Are you comfortable with us?

So… even though you do not deal with funerals daily and when a death occurs – it’s harder because you are usually in shock or mourning so everything is a blur.

I do not want you to be stressed over the funeral arrangements… we will handle it all – and if you have any issues … you come to me and I will handle them.

Also … today at work – I heard stories about people I work with… not my girls – other people

People who are great to me… but I hear bad stories 😮

I don’t listen to bad stories – I keep them in my mind because I will see how someone is, could be lies.

I have never known these people spoken about to be anything but amazing to me… so I take with a grain of salt and also consider who is telling me this information

I do trust the person telling me

But I think the people spoken about have grown and are not that way now? I do not know them the way I heard today.

Also… a lot of “also’s” today lol … but I was also told that office managers used to think they were hot shit and treat the directors badly or less than 😮

So I said – Sounds like drunk on authority … you can’t be too friendly being boss – you have to keep a certain distance somewhat? To avoid conflict

My girls and I are like a well oiled machine… I support them – they support me. I give them lowdown’s and they give me information. I fix everything and keep them happy.

So when looking for a funeral home – corporation or not… talk to them… see how they care for you… ask them questions

We deal with it daily – we know you don’t. We do not mind questions or if you cry. We are extremely compassionate

If a funeral home doesn’t have time for you – covid or not… go to the next one. – all through covid – I made time for our families! So that is not an excuse.

Know what you are dealing with – with everything – including funerals. You have every right to do so.

And if you already have a preneed with another home – you can transfer that if you are not happy

Just giving you some information, because I don’t think many realize and are usually too upset to think straight.

It’s ok – we are used to it – it’s a different profession. We see it all so don’t feel bad or embarrassed …

We see all the families and all the dynamics – don’t even be embarrassed about that – that’s fine too – we see that also. You will not be only one or first.

We know how families can be sometimes – we work with you. However you need.

We understand the devastation so don’t worry – we are cried on daily – it’s ok. You can let it out.

And that’s what I mean – such a personal loss / so make sure the ones helping you – CAN help you with the way you need

Friday at work – that was crazy

On my way to work, I had to pick up a flower van from another funeral home, outside of my own… (see I tell you we all know each other lol)

I had to leave my car at their funeral home and take their van, and book it to work!

As soon as I got to work, we had to load all the flowers into all the vans… and then we checked with cemetery, who allowed us to come set up the flowers early 🙌❤️

Then they came back, and loaded decedent into hearse… and left for burial – we had 4 people on that burial (that’s a lot – usually 1 or 2)

Anyway that went perfectly 🙌

Meanwhile I am back at office with my part timer and I had less of a day because I had to get the van in the morning – usually I am there before 8… yesterday I got there at 8:30a

Had to run all my reports 🤨 ugh 🤦‍♀️ a full day of work in less time – I got most of the big stuff handled

And I had to leave at 3:30 to return the van before the other funeral home closed.

Plus I had all my Friday reports and also that outreach 🤨 I sucked on the outreach this week!! Really bad – they got cards …just cards – it was too craZy and I have to do every week – I sent them a magnet with our home’s business card on it lol

Just not my normal things – it was too crazy of a week with that audit, the cases and this traditional burial.

So here we are May 1st 🙌 ahhh

I have a plan to make sure me and this other one help each other and make sure we pass all audits at anytime ❤️ I think my plan is brilliant!!! I will mention to her on Monday! ❤️

Just a very crazy Friday – I did not stop anywhere after work 🙌 so no crazy stories

We had a nice Friday night. They came over and started slowly we just ate and laughed and chatted about the week, like we always do…

Then oldest say he bring Nintendo Switch because one of my favorite games came out – they remade it ❤️

The kids used to tease me about this game… When we would have discussions about what favorite Pokémon game was – I would say this one, and they would tease it was not a REAL Pokémon game (cause it’s nothing like the others lol ❤️)

I always insisted WAS Pokémon game 😄❤️ it is!!!!

I knew they were doing remake, I thought they would make it suck. Usually that does happen

So he sets it up really quick and shows me:

I don’t really play games. I will watch them play. I used to be a gamer big time… but when I got cancer I gave up everything including that.

I am old school original gamer ❤️ Started with radio shacks Pong in late 70’s… then Atari 2600 🙌 … Nintendo, Sega, PlayStation all of that – but I am one of the original gamers 💋 I watched it grow ❤️ ✌️

Anyway… I usually won’t touch a controller now. I just don’t. The kids try to convince me to just do again… but I dunno – I just don’t. 🤷‍♀️

Once in a blue moon they will find one that I will… but it has to be slower. I will only do games like Harvest Moon or StarDew Valley… easy slow at my pace and nothing crazy.

They will get me to play team games with them sometimes

Most of the time – I just don’t play

But they bring Pokémon Snap 😮❤️

At first I just watch. They look at me and reach out the controller – “Here mum, do you want to play?”

No that’s ok – let me watch you

So they play more – then I just said …ok fine hand over the controller lol

Then it was all over – the rest of the night they let that controller stay in my hands lol 🙌 😮

It’s actually after my time… my oldest was born in 1994… he will turn 27 on May 8th ❤️😮😳 my first baby ❤️ the one who made me a mother ❤️

When he was little and in school… Pokémon cards were banned from being brought to school because caused so many problems!! It was distracting from studies.. so they banned them lol

He was heavily into Pokémon and Yu-gi-oh lol … I only loved the Pokémon – he brought that to my life lol – and been in my life ever since lol ❤️✌️

We have every single Eevee evolution plush ❤️ I love Eevee ❤️

We also have of course Pikachu lol … and I like Ditto ❤️… I like that he can be anything he wants ❤️

We have a lot of Pokémon stuff – sheets and also clothes lol – maybe some purses lol

Mine is subtle though – I don’t have it all crazy… just something I love ❤️

Alright so… I am going to ask 3 different AC guys for bids. I have 2 recommendations currently and “one” I will pick out myself… so we see who wants to work and who wants business – I come with other funeral homes who listen to my opinions and use the people I recommend so… ya know … we see – better be really good! Kinda fun and exciting aspects to solving issues – sorta – I have not seen the cost of the bids yet so let’s see that first, before I go using the word “fun” lol

This is the thing… ok … listen … if you are going to own something or have something… take care of it!!!! Because if you don’t and don’t do any regular maintenance … it will break down, go bad or break. That goes for everything!!! Literally everything!! it’s costs you more all at once – instead of little by little.

But… if you take care of it… it will last you.

And then flip side of that lesson is … you get what you pay for.

Then while checking out – the guy says the normal stuff – “hello miss” etc etc

And then says “oh wow, I love your necklace”

I completely forgot I even had a necklace on 😮 … so I had to look down at my chest to see what I wore – if I put one on, it usually stays on always lol – unless I get new one and change it lol…

I have been wearing this one for few weeks now lol

It is silver… for the chain and most of the charm.

The charm is a silver circle ⭕️ with a tree inside it… only the trunk of the tree is gold… the leaves are silver

Ok… I have red hair 👩🏻‍🦰… and I am covered in freckles lol … I look extremely Irish – extremely, and when I smile is even more Irish omg lol … I don’t really think you can mistake me with that? Maybe? But that has never happened lol

So I laughed lol … and said why do you ask? Lol 🤷‍♀️ (that is a very funny and odd question to ask “me”? Lol)

And he said because he saw my ring 😮 he is noticing everything 😮 everything I forget about 😮

I wear a claddagh ring 💍 … I never ever take it off. I have always had it and worn it. It was just like my grandfathers ❤️

I am just about to leave … We have huge traditional thing going on tonight – attendants working it.

And it’s a 91 degree day and my A/C in my chapel blew out 😮😮

Nothing I can do at 6pm!! I got fans going and all A/C’s on full blast – half of the funeral home is freezing and the other half is like being in HELL

Tomorrow I have to make emergency call to get someone to fix – I already got ok through corporate to do immediately!!

They started calling me a new nickname at work…

They call me a couple names lol… but currently they are calling me “Obie Wan”

They kept saying that today – you’re our only hope lol

That is because when I ask corporate they always say yes to “me”. So I am able to get these things handled

But it kills me for tonight!! I am very stressed – I told my attendants – you give them all waters, any drinks they want (we don’t offer alcohol but we do have license – I choose not to do that)

But I have tons of cold drinks – give them anything they want to drink. Put out waters

I passed my audit!! I did really good, considering I was winging it and hoping would pass…

There was one piece of documentation that I didn’t know about?? It was from before I even started – and no one even told me about… or that I needed… but we looked in some old file boxes and found one from 2014!! 🙌 and I had the documentation ❤️

So yay!! ❤️❤️❤️ they were shocked how well I did without any training ❤️ my only training is when I hunt down office managers to ask questions. But otherwise I have learned myself and with help of my staff who can fill in pieces of info I don’t know

I worked REALLY REALLY REALLY hard!! I did amazing 🙌❤️

Ugh… and when I first started this location it was a complete mess – the prior 4 office managers couldn’t handle. I had to clean it up, organize it and run those reports and also have ALL supporting documentation!!!

It could not have gone better – they came to MY location to do audit… asked for all my reports and also all documentation and records.

The last office manager who had location failed the audits – you can lose your job immediately for failing these audits 😮 so yeah – that’s why so stressed – now I feel relief 🙌❤️

Because last office manager failed audits – I have to pass the audits 3 times in a row to have it go to once a year 🙌❤️

I’ve got it now… as they went over all my records and documentation … they explained everything so now I have really good grasp!! They should have done that immediately as soon as I started but whatever – I handled it 🙌❤️

I’m so excited – you have no idea how much time and effort I put there to get this place organized and together!!

And then …

The auditor asked my employees what they think of me … they tell auditor that I “get” it and have made them actually enjoy and want to come to work ❤️ there were moments before me when they wanted to leave. But with me – they love it there ❤️❤️❤️

And then while I am being audited, it took from 9am until 2:30pm … no breaks … my district boss – above my own boss called the auditor… and asked how I do?

They gave really good review – said most who start have many errors… I had only one error for my very first time… with the way I ran a report in the month of February – instead of running the entire month – I did week by week (I was trying to see what best system was)

But I had all info and documentation with it – is same just run week by week, instead of one month. They want it in one whole month.

Everything else was good 🙌❤️

Ohhh such relief ❤️❤️

Now I can breath for another 3 months lol each quarter I will be audited until I can continuously pass – then I will be audited once a year

But even when audited once a year I still have to do all the reports, documentation and everything every quarter – like I am being audited to make sure all stays neat and clean 🙌❤️

Whew!! That was a day 🙌❤️

I also looked really amazing – was first time I am meeting auditor so I was excited and wanted to look good!! So looked amazing today, made sure I felt good and had confidence to handle today ✌️

On way home, I stopped at a new gas station that did not work out very well at all…

I was all dressed nice and looking nice … went to get gas – I had to!!

Some random man who was also filling his tank, literally finished and walked right over to me and said “excuse me, I’m sorry, I just had to come tell you – you are a very beautiful woman, stunning”

See why I do not expect? I was not even thinking of things like that, my mind was on my audit literally all day long… even at that moment – my mind was replaying everything from the audit … And also… see why I kinda shy away or run away?

So… I am not sure about that gas station. That was first time there and that happened

So I want to ask something else… I am reading things that tell me the coronavirus or covid – Whatever you call it… is hitting India really hard currently… is that true?
